CONFERENCE THEME

inspired by history conference logo (232 x 192 px) (800 x 400 px)-2.png
While the history of Civil Rights in the United States is undeniably marked by profound struggles and injustices, it also serves as a testament to the resilience and transformative power of visionary leaders, student activists, and some of the most potent nonviolent movements in the nation’s history. The theme of "Inspired by History" invites a comprehensive examination of the Civil Rights Movement, particularly in Montgomery and its surrounding areas, as well as other pivotal civic movements that have shaped the pursuit of a just society. Conference sessions might delve into these topics, fostering a deeper understanding of their historical significance and contemporary relevance. Our aim is for 2026 SRHC Annual Conference participants to depart with a renewed sense of purpose, motivated to become active, engaged citizens who effect meaningful change within both their local and global communities.
