Northern Virginia Community College is delighted to host to the 2018 meeting of the Southern Regional Honors Council, to be held in Arlington, VA just across the Potomac from Washington DC.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Honors on the Edge.”
Please see the links below to register for the conference or to submit a proposal for a presentation, performance, poster, or roundtable discussion. All honors students, staff, and faculty are invited to submit proposals.
CALL FOR PROPOSALS
The opportunity for submitting proposals for the 2018 conference has now closed.
Proposals will be reviewed in early February and acceptances will be announced at that time via email to the student and college Honors Director/coordinator.
Students who have submitted to present artwork at the conference should use this form.
All presenters and attendees will be required to register for the conference. The registration costs are as follows:
SRHC Member Institutions:
Early Registration Fee: Students: $150; Faculty/Staff: $175
Late Registration Fee: Students: $175; Faculty/Staff: $200
Non-SRHC Member Institutions:
Early Registration Fee: Students: $175; Faculty/Staff: $200
Late Registration Fee: Students: $200; Faculty/Staff: $225

Pay Registration by Check
We've heard that many institutions would prefer to pay for the conference by issuing an institutional check, and we now have a process in place where you can complete the on-line registration using Grenadine and initiate the pay-by-check option. If you would like to use this option, please email Paul Fitzgerald (firstname.lastname@example.org) with a simple request for the instructions and he will send you the details on how to get this done. It’s a straightforward process which can be completed quickly and efficiently.

The 2018 meeting of the Southern Regional Honors Council will be held at the Renaissance Capital View, which showcases luxury accommodations and exceptional amenities for your visit to the Washington, DC area. The hotel is conveniently located near Reagan National Airport and the US Capitol. The conference rate is $195 per night (plus tax). If you are unable to reserve a room in the Renaissance Capital View, you can receive the same conference rate of $195 per night (plus tax) just across the street at Courtyard Arlington Crystal City/Reagan National Airport. You can use this link to secure a room at this hotel in the SRHC block.
Partners in the Park Post-Conference Program
In partnership with the National Collegiate Honors Council Partners in the Parks, SRHC is happy to offer up to 12 participants the opportunity to participate in an experiential learning opportunity at the C&O Canal National Historic Trail. For complete details, click here.
The Southern Regional Honors Council (SRHC) is hosting our annual conference on April 5-7, 2018, and we invite you to join over 700 talented, eager, and bright Honors Program and Honors College students from over 100 two- and four-year institutions from the Southern United States.
SRHC has tables available where you can meet our 700+ students to discuss professional opportunities with them. Many students will be seeking graduate, internship, and study abroad programs and other scholarship, professional, and enrichment opportunities. This conference is a great platform to meet well-rounded, energetic, and research-driven Honors students, leaders we believe your organization/institution might be interested in meeting.
We currently have 15 six foot tables available, and the investment is $120 for each 2-hour time slot or $200 for 4 hours.
